Starting July 9th, 2018 Christian Way Ministries will open up Our Father's Daycare (O.F.D.), a faith-based child care program that's centered on creating a safe Christian learning and nurturing environment affordable for children ranging from infants to 10 years old @ 549 Newtown Road, Virginia Beach, VA. We are beyond excited to extend this aspect of our ministry for parents who are in need of a Christian-based daycare program for their children in the local community.
Our Father’s Daycare is intended for parents/guardians who desire to attain a strong Christian foundation for their children and agrees with our implementation of how O.F.D. will institute their faith-based program.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Here at O.F.D. we offer a safe and nurturing learning environment that will advance your child’s spiritual, social, emotional, and physical growth, and provide them the opportunity to be interactive, creative, and well-rounded children of God that will reflect Christian morals and values. In addition, O.F.D. will foster the development of language, communication, and interactive skills in order to produce appropriate and effective child-based activities that will enhance learning.
OUR GOAL
At O.F.D. our goal is to fulfill the command in Proverbs 22:6 “to train our children up in the ways of the Lord so that when they grow old they shall not depart from them.” The emphasis at O.F.D. will be threefold; spiritual, educational, and behavioral. In addition to the mandatory child developmental learning requirements advanced at non-faith based childcare centers such as communication, auditory, visual, kinesthetic, social, and motor skills, the “Abeka” curriculum along with the Bible will be O.F.D.’s primary resources to develop your child spiritually, educationally, and morally so that they can grow into the person God created them to be.
The principles O.F.D. will emphasize to your child include:
The Golden Rule; treat others as you want to be treated, Matthew 7:12.
The Greatest Commandment; love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, Matthew 22:37.
The Second Greatest Commandment; love your neighbor as yourself, Matthew 22:39.
The Ten Commandments (Moral Law) outlined in Exodus 20:1-7.
The 9 Fruits of the Spirit outlined in Galatians 5:22 which include love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control.
The importance of being quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, James 1:19.
A major emphasis on making good choices utilizing biblical examples to enhance learning.
The importance of praying without ceasing according to 1 Thessalonians 5:17 and emphasize the Lord’s Prayer outlined in Matthew 6:9-15.
And teaching your child the importance of being able to control their thoughts and their emotions, 2 Corinthians 10:5 & Romans 12:2.
The whole idea of a faith-based daycare program is to afford your child the opportunity to become more familiar with the Word of God, and to teach them how to put the Word of God into practice, along with all the other developmental learning requirements O.F.D. will instill in your child.
